As part of this support group we have come to realize that some of us would like a little more support and fellowship throughout the month.
That gave us a great idea!
We've decided that we mom's will spend some time together and the dad's will spend some
time together - separately - so we can talk about the challenges we face in our respective family roles (not to mention talking about the things our partners just aren't interested in!).
We're meeting once a month for
these outings and so far they've been amazing.
On our first outing the moms
went out to coffee and for a walk on West Cliff drive. This last Saturday we
went over to a mom's house for brunch. Amazing bagels and Mimosa's and lots of
laughter. (I have no idea what the dad's are doing, I'll see if I can get Ron to tell us.)
It was so awesome to be able to connect informally with other moms who have
trans kids and to be able to laugh at all of our funny stories.
