|That's us! Small but powerful!|
Today was the 40th Annual Gay Pride Parade in my home town of Santa Cruz, CA.
This is the second year that we have participated as the Transfamily Support Group and it was amazing.
I always feel so honored to be part of this parade and a community that cares and loves one another so much.
As we were marching people were cheering and waving at us. People shouting thank you to us. And this was all because we have decided to love and accept our transgender children.
I have spoken to many older LGBT people and they are always in awe of how we are so supportive of our kids. But I am the one in awe of how they were the trailblazers who did the hard work for today’s generation.
They are the ones who had to create a community. They are the ones who had to go through so much adversity. I thank them so much for creating a community that my child can thrive in.
With over 7,000 people in attendance, today was just a remarkable day of acceptance and appreciation for all who came.
I am so happy to be a small part of it.
